Myrsini Alexandridi (b. 1991) is a Greek artist based in Stockholm. Originally trained as an architect at the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, she brings an architectural sensibility to her practice. Working at the intersection of architecture, painting, and ceramics, she uses the ceramic tile as both a medium and a conceptual anchor. Each tile functions as an autonomous unit, yet in combination they form larger compositions reminiscent of architectural grids, Mediterranean landscapes, and abstraction. Rooted in Greek cultural and visual heritage, including mythological motifs, folk art references, and the colors and forms of the islands, her work engages with themes of belonging, identity, and transformation. Living in Stockholm has introduced a Nordic clarity and restraint into her visual language, creating a dialogue between the expressive vibrancy of the Mediterranean and the minimalism of the North. Her process is hands-on, beginning with pencil sketches that divide the composition into individual tile units, followed by painting, glazing, and assembling the final work. Through this method she seeks to elevate the tile from a functional domestic surface into a carrier of memory, culture, and contemporary artistic expression.
