Folding Arm Chair (at the turn of the 21st century)

Nikos Sepetzoglou, with his Folding Arm Chair (at the turn of the 21st century), imagines a future archaeological finding. This work explores the concept of time layers, suggesting that 2,000 years from now the site of Akrotiri may reveal artefacts from our present day. This folding chair, a common object today, is proposed as a relic discovered by future archaeologists. Through the process of casting clay, it imitates the plaster casts found in ancient excavations, preserving the shape of the decayed objects.
