Asunción Molinos Gordo is a Spanish research-based artist who lives and works between Madrid and Cairo. Drawing on anthropology, sociology, and cultural studies, her practice focuses on contemporary peasantry and the political economies of rural life. Through long-term fieldwork, archival methods, and collaborative research, she examines land use, farmers’ mobilizations, territorial bureaucracy, and how biotechnology and global food trade reshape rural labor and knowledge. Her work has been shown internationally at institutions including the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao; Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid; V&A Museum, London; Museo Carrillo Gil, Mexico City; Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai; Townhouse Gallery, Cairo; and Darat al Funun, Amman. She received the Sharjah Biennial Prize and is represented by Travesía Cuatro.
