Chous Ceramics is a contemporary ceramic art partnership founded in 2024 by Despina Chroni and Giorgos Zitis in Sparta. Despite its recent formation, the studio has gained international attention, with works selected for the 1st International Ceramics Sculpture Triennale, Poland, 2025, and Viaggio Attraverso la Ceramica, Italy, 2025–2026. Their practice brings together Giorgos’s academic background, including an MA in Digital Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts, Athens, and Despina’s professional experience shaped by a 15-year career in the banking sector. This synergy of visual culture and conceptual approach informs their commitment to designing sculptural vessels that explore balance and tension. Bridging Spartan heritage with a bold contemporary aesthetic, the duo develops works that hold a sense of structure and instability at once, translating craft into a sculptural language.
