Independent curator and writer

Cristina Anglada is an independent art curator and cultural manager. Her field of research explores diverse narrative strategies through which she aims to outline new ways of thinking and relating, centered on community and mutual care. She graduated in Art History from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2002–2007) and obtained a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture from UCM and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (2010–2011).

She is part of the curatorial team of the Opening section at ARCOmadrid, together with Anissa Touati and Rafa Barber. She also serves as advisor to the recently inaugurated Calparsoro Foundation, whose collection includes works by Miriam Cahn, Glenn Ligon, Theaster Gates, Carrie Mae Weems, Nan Goldin, Kara Walker, among others.

Since 2022, she has been a guest lecturer in the Master in Art Business at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. She is currently working on several curatorial projects for Es Baluard (Mallorca) and CA2M (Madrid). Recent exhibitions include Introspection (Jorinde Voigt), Fascination (Diego Delas), Procesionaria (Gabriel Pericás), Tales of Disorder (Mercedes Azpilicueta, Sarah Bechter, Ines Zenha), Broken Open (Kirstin Wenzel, Álvaro Urbano, Leticia Ybarra, Alex Reynolds, among others), and Getting Lost into the Woods (Pedro Torres, Monica Mays, Elena Bajo).

In 2016, she co-founded the non-profit cultural association This is Jackalope with Gema Melgar. Dedicated to the dissemination and production of contemporary artistic practices, it acts as a platform with international scope, generating dialogue and collaboration. Projects include the annual exhibition cycle An Involuntary Trace for La Casa Encendida, as well as publications and special editions with artists such as Teresa Solar Abboud and David Bestué.

She has also worked as a consultant for various private collections and for the AC/E Program for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture (PICE).
