Over the past three decades, Dimitris has produced integrated design solutions for some of the most renowned greek institutions, including the: National Library of Greece, National Historical Museum, Athens and Epidaurus Festival, Thessaloniki International Film Festival, as well as international brands, such as Nike, Huawei, The New York Times, Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Fondazione Prada, MoMA, Volvo and Volvo Ocean Race, The Beatles, etc. Awarded with many international design awards and industry distinctions, Dimitris’ has been characterized as one of the most influential Greek designers.
More Specific:
As a milestone in his career (March 2016 – ) Dimitris Papazoglou was chosen by Nike to join Nike Football design department as Creative Director at the company’s global headquarters in Portland, Oregon. A year later he won the pan-hellenic competion about the rebranding of the National Library of Greece on the occasion of the institute’s transition into its new home at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). For the same project, he collaborated closely with the architect Renzo Piano, on the occasion of the the study, design and development of National Library’s of Greece Signage Systems. Additionally, in 2020, he won the pan-hellenic competition about the development of the rebranding of the renowed cultural event Athens and Epidaurus Festival.
In 2022, he was announced as honorary member of Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece, both for his work about the the bicentennial anniversary of two hundred years from the Greek Revolution (2017-2021), toghether with his research and essay publication under the title: “ΕΠΑΝΑCΥΣΤΑΣΗ ’21 [Re–Constitution]: Insignia fragments and design statements on a national visual and social disquisition. Research and study for the development of the visual identity on the occasion of the bicentennial anniversary of two hundred years from the Greek Revolution (1821)”.
In 2023, he was honored to be elected into Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), becoming that way the the third person from Greece having this title, after Michalis Katzourakis, and Dimitris Arvanitis. AGI is a member-based association that includes the top class and most influnetinal designers of the field from all over the world. Founded in 1952, AGI has evolved into a respected organization with around 500 members from 46 different countries.
