Fragoula Georma

Archaeologist at the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Greece

Fragoula Georma completed her studies in Classical Archaeology at the University of Florence (1996) and continued her postgraduate studies in Maritime Archaeology at the University of Bristol (1998). She earned a PhD in Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Ioannina in 2009 on the study of the frescoes from Building Beta from Akrotiri, Thera. She is an archaeologist of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, at the Ephorate of Antiquities of Aitoloakarnania and Lefkada (Western Greece) since 2014, and a collaborator of the Excavations at Akrotiri since 2000. She has participated to numerous excavations and projects regarding the study of the ancient Greek civilization while she is author of articles regarding issues of the Aegean prehistory as well as other aspects of the ancient Greek culture. Her last project regards the organization of a new archaeological museum in the city of Nafpaktos (Western Greece), as well as the implementation of projects regarding the enhancement of archaeological sites.
