Jorge Cabieses-Valdés (b. 1978) is a Chilean visual artist and musician who lives and works in Chile. He holds an MFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, London, and is an Associate Professor at the University of Chile, Santiago. Working across ceramics, painting, video, and performance, his practice explores the relationship between the fragility of ceramic ornament and the visual culture of natural disaster. His recent works extend this inquiry into sound and live formats, including record releases through projects such as Tobías Alcayota, Fono Mental, and Porcelanatron. He has presented solo exhibitions in Chile and internationally, and has participated in residencies including Incheon Art Platform, Incheon, 2013, and HIAP Helsinki International Artist Programme, Helsinki, 2011. He has received support from programs including Creart (2025 and 2021); FONDART (2020, 2018, 2012, 2010, and 2005), and the President of the Republic Scholarship (2006).
