Iosifina Kosma was born in Athens in 1968. She studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens. At the same time she attended various ceramics courses and then continued her ceramics studies obtaining a Master of Arts degree from Middlesex University, London.
She has held three solo exhibitions and has taken part in many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, having received praise and awards. She has participated in several international symposia. She is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics.Â
Her work with clay always involves the flow of a curve. She is inspired by nature without being interested in formally depicting something concrete. She wants to create organic forms that capture a sense of existence, that convey feelings of completeness and harmony. She explores movement and the interplay of light aiming to achieve a harmonious coexistence of opposites.
