Director

Lambros Papanikolatos is a photographer and cultural manager with studies in Greece and the Netherlands in the field of Marketing Communication, Advertising & Multimedia and with post-graduate studies in Photography in Prague (Academy of Performing Arts/ FAMU). He is a scholarship holder of the Alexandros S. Onassis Foundation and the Fulbright Foundation. He has represented Greece at the Biennale of Young European Artists in Rome and has been awarded at The Rencontres d’Arles in France. His photographs are exhibited in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Houston, USA.

He has experience in cultural organization & production, artistic curation and communication, as well as developing educational programs. He has collaborated with photography festivals and organizations such as Houston FotoFest, Festival of Light, Thessaloniki Photobiennale, and the Ioannou F. Kostopoulos Foundation, while in Greece, he has co-organized seminars with Internationally recognized photographers (Antoine d’Agata, Michael Ackerman, JH Engstrom, etc.) and has curated photographic exhibitions and publications. He has taught in the adult photography education program at the Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2018 he has been teaching Photography and Visual Language program MA at AKTO and is a visiting professor at the FAMU Academy of Film and Photography in Prague.

From June 2022, he is the programme leader of AKTO’s Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Photography program validated by Middlesex University, UK.
