For Manoha Simon, it is crucial to expand the semantic field of alterity to encompass all of Nature, to allow each part of the world to express itself as it is, rather than through our human eyes.

Kopfschmerzen is a tribute to the philosophy of Emmanuel Lévinas. For him, alterity is something over which you have no control, a gift that expresses itself in its own way.

For this project, he has created a series of intimate works with nature, utilizing its materials, shapes, and meanings.

He collects clays, stones, and river sand from the mountains around him to create a final clay that best expresses his environment. Then, he works on natural glazes by crushing minerals from the mountains, creating ash with indigenous plants, and developing them together. Finally, he shapes nature through a state of vacant mind.
