Terpsichore Savvala is a Greek artist based in Madrid. Drawing on ancient Greek and Greek folkloric traditions, she reinterprets symbols and narratives to engage with contemporary human experience. Informed by studies in History and Archaeology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an MA at Goldsmiths, University of London, she approaches classical forms through a critical and intuitive lens, bridging past and present. Central to her practice is the retelling of women’s stories and legends, shifting away from dominant historical narratives to foreground female strength, vulnerability, and agency. Treating myth as a living language, she explores universal emotional states and the modern psyche. Her work moves between contemporary art contexts and architectural settings. She has exhibited in Berlin, Copenhagen, and London, and has been commissioned to produce artworks for hotels and restaurants in Milan, Copenhagen, and Greece.
