Zoe Williams is an artist based in Marseille. Her multidisciplinary practice spans installation, moving image, ceramics, drawing, and performance, and is often developed collaboratively. Since 2022, her work has been shaped by sustained engagement with the Mediterranean region, including residencies and projects in Italy and southern France. Ceramics are central to her practice, functioning as both a medium and a conceptual tool, connecting historical craft traditions with contemporary explorations of ritual, gender, desire, and consumption. Williams creates immersive objects and environments that explore the interplay between the erotic and the grotesque, craft and excess, and the shifting use-values of objects and rituals across history and contemporary society. She frequently incorporates sensory elements such as food and scent, using them as tools for exchange, disgust, and sensuality, and to prompt dialogue around power, the politics of sex, and the economics of production. She is represented by Ciaccia Levi Gallery, Paris, and Milan. Selected exhibitions include Fræme and La Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille; Tate St Ives, St Ives; Somerset House, London; Roberts Institute of Art, London; and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin. Her work is held in the collections of FRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.
