In her work, Yena Young focuses on crafting prehistoric figurines, each endowed with a distinct “identity,” reminiscent of unearthed artifacts. Through an imaginary narrative, she infuses vitality into these figurines, capturing the essence of ancient existence. As such, Untold Stories demonstrates how anthropomorphic figurines can craft an atmospheric and individualized narrative within a space. It examines the relationship between architecture and the figurines, and blurs the boundaries between past and present, reality and imagination, to draw people into an immediate and enigmatic encounter with the site’s heritage.
